Ping Pong is a type of a sport played on a special table that is divided by a net. Two to four players can play the game at a time. The objective of the game is to hit the ball with a racquet into the opponent’s side. The ball should bounce only once on either side of the table and should be successfully returned to the opponent. Ping-pong is very similar to lawn tennis - the only notable difference is that this game is played on a table, instead of on the court.
If the player hit the ball too hard that it fails to land on his opponent’s side of the table, then it is a dead ball. A point will be given to the opponent. Ping-pong is a very fast game. Therefore, quick reactions are required. Skilled players even try to spin the ball as they hit it with the paddle so that it becomes hard for their opponent to predict which spot it would land.
The game Ping-pong originated from England in the year 1880’s. It is commonly referred to as indoor tennis. During that time, players use common objects found inside their homes as equipments. The game is played on a regular dining table and they use books for a bat and a ball of yarn as the ball. It was only in 1901 that the game was marketed commercially. J. Jaques and Son Ltd. manufactured the most expensive game set. They sold it with the “Ping-pong” trademark.
A Ping-pong game is usually started with a toss coin. The outcome decides which player will serve the ball first. To serve the ball, the player needs to hit it with the bat approximately six inches above the table. The ball has to bounce on the serving player’s side of the table and into his opponent’s. As much as possible, the ball should not hit the net.
A point is awarded to you if your opponent fails to return the ball after it had bounced on their side. The ball has to go over the net and should not bounce on either side twice. Once the ball had landed on your table, you have to effectively return it to your opponent. Failure to do so will credit him a point. It is illegal for players to hit the ball before it has touched the table.

Who Said Golfing Was Relaxing
I used to throw my golf clubs into the trunk of my car, drive to the course, hit a few practice putts on the green and then tee off. Five hours later I would be cursing and swearing to myself about how terrible my game was, how my clubs were to blame or the weather was not suited to my game that day. Then, I would repeat the whole process again a week later, just counting down the hours until I was back out of the course.
This was my time for me, away from all the pressures and stresses of my everyday world. The one place where I could go and relax for a few hours with the guys. That was, until I started paying attention to all of the golfing magazines, the golf shows on television and the club displays that were in my pro shop. After all, what could it hurt to take a look at some of the new golf equipment that was out there and maybe shave a couple of strokes off my game.
The first item I thought I would change was my golf ball. Big mistake. Do you realize just how many different balls there are out there now? There must be hundreds, if not thousands. There is at least 20 golf balls designed for each aspect of your game. Ones for curves, slices, hooks, backspin, high flight, low flight and on and on. And who really cares just how many dimples there are on a golf ball. And what about compression ratio’s? What the heck is that all about?
Once you do finally decide on a new ball then you begin to think about new golf clubs. The world of clubs has now evolved into a very sophisticated and technical process. The selection is enormous and the price range is simply outrageous. You can purchase a simple department store driver for $40.00 or a top of the line driver from one of the Big Three for up to $800.00. It would take a complete novel to write about and explain all the new clubs that are available today. With the ever expanding availability of golf equipment to help make the game easier and more relaxing, it has in fact created the opposite effect, at least for this writer.

What is Table Tennis?
Table tennis is an indoor game that originated from England. And just like other sports, table tennis was played merely as a social diversion in the early times. It is a game that was enjoyed by upper class Victorian families in the 19th century.
Table tennis is an indoor game that originated from England. And just like other sports, table tennis was played merely as a social diversion in the early times. It is a game that was enjoyed by upper class Victorian families in the 19th century. Table tennis comes with a number of names, including “flim flam”, “gossamer”, and “whif whaf”. During that time, players merely use a dining table, a makeshift net, and a set of cardboards to play the game. It was only in 1901 when an official set of table tennis equipment was sold in the market, under the trademark “Ping-Pong”. To play table tennis, a ball, a net, an official ping-pong table, and a paddle for each player are all required.
Right now, table tennis is an internationally recognized sport. The International Table Tennis Federation, or simply ITTF, governs all rules and tournaments worldwide. Table tennis can be played either in singles or doubles. It follows a rule very similar to lawn tennis. Players use small rackets called paddles, which both sides can be covered with rubber. A hollow lightweight ball made of celluloid is the one commonly used. The main objective of the game is to volley the ball from one side of the table to the other.
Game skills and strategies are required to play table tennis efficiently. The spin of the ball, its placement on the table, and the speed it travels are very essential. The different ways of holding the racket, such as the grip style, the pen-hold, and the shake-hand style may determine the player’s skill level. And to be good at ping-pong, players need to master both defensive and offensive strokes. The game starts with a serve. The player needs to bounce the ball on his side of the table into his opponent’s side without hitting the net.
The player gains a point if his opponent fumbles or was unable to return the ball back to him. It is important that the ball bounces once on the player’s and his opponent’s sides of the table. It is illegal to hit the ball before it touches the table. If the player hit the ball too hard that it goes out of bounds, then the other player gets the point. The area of the table serves as the boundaries.
Table tennis is very popular in Asia. In fact, Chinese and Koreans currently dominate the sport. They had successfully dethroned the reign of European players from France, Sweden, and Hungary. Table tennis became an official game in the Olympics in 1988.

Golf - What It Really Takes
Until you have actually tried to play golf, you are unlikely to really understand its appeal. I mean all you need to do is hit a little white ball down a stretch of grass known as a fairway and putt it into a hole.
What is so difficult about that? Well believe me, the word easy is as far away as you can imagine and frustrating seems to linger as an excellent description of the game. Ask anyone who plays.
Though the Scottish are generally credited with inventing the game, the first recorded game of golf was actually played in the Netherlands in February 1297. The first ever-recorded history of purchasing golf equipment was in 1502 by James VI. One of the oldest courses on record is St. Andrews where evidence of the game has been found dating back to 1552.
Golf is now one of the world’s popular sports and has some of the biggest payouts of any sport for the elite professionals. Many of the world’s greats have become household names:Tiger Woods, Sandy Lyle, Sevvy and Greg Norman to name just a few.
The professional game is marked by four major tournaments each year, referred to as ‘The Majors’ and winning all of them in the same year is known as ‘The Grand Slam.’
Golf as a sport requires unbelievable amounts of technique. It can take years and thousands of hours of practice to perfect the different shots necessary to play consistently well.
It is in this last phrase that the key to golf lies: CONSISTENCY.
Many players will tell you that they play well for a few holes or for the odd game but it it is the ability to play consistently well that separates quality players from the rest.
Hitting the occasional good shot is achievable for most but doing it consecutively over a few hours is what it takes to hit a good round. This makes golf an ultimate example of a ‘mental sport’ that shows up mental weaknesses so well. Compared to soccer, for example, where you can hide and hardly touch the ball. In golf you have to take the shot and if it is slightly incorrect the price you pay in terms of the effect on the result is that much greater than for example an over hit shot in soccer.
It requires:
Patience
concentration
Consistency
Calmness
Focus
Dedication
Nowhere yet have we mentioned physical characteristics. All of the above are attributes of the mind are they not?
So in terms of physical ability what does golf demand? Well it demands a good degree of flexibility, particularly in the hips, spine and shoulders.
It also requires a degree of strength in the hips, trunk and upper limbs, particularly the wrists and forearms. Any golfer will tell you however that:
Timing
Co-ordination
Relaxation
are more important than isolated power.
Golf is a game requiring a blend of co-ordinated, relaxed, adjusted and focussed power that is almost effortless in its final implementation.
Despite this regular work on:
* Flexibility in specific joints
* Strength in specific muscle groups
* Overall fitness
will pay dividends in improving your game.
Flexibility
Performing a routine of mobility exercises for shoulders, hips and spine concentration especially on the rotation movements will not only help your game by improving your swing but will help prevent injury.
Strength
A twice weekly routine of resistance work on the hip, spine, shoulder and forearm muscle groups will again help improve your long game and get increased distance on your driving.
This will also have an effect on preventing injury because the stronger and more efficient your muscles are the less forced effort you need which not only increases injury risk but contributes to poor technique and fatigue.
Fitness
Four hours of concentrated physical and mental effort requires fitness. It may be of a very different type to other sports that demand high intensity bursts of effort but it is necessary to play well.
A twice a weekly program of aerobic exercise that can be a combination of running, cycling, swimming or skipping is an excellent way to develop the aerobic basis to play a high quality round of golf consistently.
So there we have some aspects to work on to improve your game that anyone can do.
So go on pick up a club, ask for some guidance and see if you get the bug.

Volleyball
Volleyball originated in United States and is more than hundred years old. Volleyball is an extremely popular sport in United States and has gained popularity in various other parts of the world. It is estimated that 46 million Americans play volleyball and there are around 800 million players of volleyball worldwide. In the year 1895, William G. Morgan, thought to mix the elements of baseball, basketball, tennis and handball into one game. He thus created a game called mintonette, which was later called volleyball. The first game of volleyball was played in the year 1896. Earlier, the ball of basketball was used for playing volleyball. In the year 1900, a special ball was designed for the sport. The ball of volleyball now weighs between 9 and 10 ounces and the ball pressure is between 4.5 and 6 pounds
Volleyball is one of the most energetic sports. In volleyball there are typically six players in one team. There are two teams playing against each other. Each team has three players in the front and three players at the back of the court. In between the two teams there are high nets to separate them. The teams use their hands and arms to hit the ball back and forth over the net. The ball should not fall on the ground.
Volleyball can be played indoors as well as outdoors on a rectangular court. The field is divided into two equal half-courts. The rules of volleyball are fairly simple. There are six players on each side. The server of the ball should serve from a line on the court called the restraining line or the end line. It is necessary that the ball is clearly visible to the opponents before the serve. The ball may be served overhand or underhand. The served ball may graze the net and fall to the other side for a point. The maximum hits allowed per side are three. A single player cannot hit the ball twice in succession. If so, it is considered to be a foul. The ball may be played off the net throughout a volley and on serve. A permissible hit is contact with the ball by a player body above and together with the waist, which does not permit the ball to perceptibly come to a rest. If two or more players contact the ball concurrently, it is considered one play and the players concerned may not partake in the next play. A player must not attack a serve. Switching positions will be allowed only between front line players and that also after the serve.
The scoring of the game is also quite simple. Rally scoring is used in volleyball. The game of volleyball is typically played to twenty five points. There will be a point scored on every score of the ball. Scores will count on a defence miss or out of bounds hit. Defense will score on an offensive miss, out of bounds hit, or serve into the net.

Pool Techniques - Play Pool Like a Pro
For the outside spectator, it seems as if professional pool players are performing difficult moves and trick shots at ease. However, the top pool players are practicing techniques that help them increase their control over the cue ball and, eventually maximize their winnings.
For example, 8-ball pool players are using billiards techniques that help them to maneuver the cue ball so it will rest in a position that would enable the to pocket the desired ball. Additionally, top players are also using billiard techniques that make it harder for their opponent to pocket a ball.
Here is a basic introduction to the various techniques applied by professional players in pool games.
English is a side spin positioned on the cue ball, in which the cue ball is hit to the left or right of the center. By using English, the player can also change the direction of an object ball and the route of the cue ball after contacting with the cue.
Follow is a spin in the direction of the cue ball’s path in a manner that causes it to spin faster than usual. When the follow technique is used, it can widen the angle of departure of the cue ball from the object ball shortly afterwards. Additionally, follow can increase the rate of cue ball path before and after contacting the object ball.
Force Follow is an intense form of follow, which causes the cue ball to pause for less than a minute and then to travel forward all the way through any ball positioned in its way.
Draw is backward spin put on the cue ball; the shooting player hits the cue ball underneath the middle of its vertical level surface. When a draw technique is used, it causes the angle of departure of the cue ball to be narrowed right after it departed from the object ball. In addition, draw can help in slowing the rate of cue ball move plus it can even impart an amount of follow to the object ball.
Force Draw is an intense type of draw. Similar to force follow, it also causes the cue ball to pause for a minute and then to shoot backward straight away.

Introduction to the Game of Carrom
The game of Carrom is also called as Carroms which is known as a family game played on tabletop. This game has a similarity between the games, table shuffleboard and billiards.
The game of Carrom is also called as Carroms which is known as a family game played on tabletop. This game has a similarity between the games, table shuffleboard and billiards. Carrom game has many kinds of names across the globe, such as carum, carrum, karam, karom, karum or simply called Indian finger billiards. The origin of this game is unsure; according to some sources this game of Carrom has an Indian origin, while some say that it has a Chinese origin. Countries like Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and North Africa seem to play a role for the origin of the Carrom game. However in the West this game is somewhat similar to billiards.
The game of Carrom is played on plain plywood which is about 74 centimeters or 29 inches. The border of the playing board in bounded with wood bumpers. Here instead of balls like in billiards, here wooden disks are used. It is also called as Carrom coins or pucks. Generally there only four types of coins, black, white, red and a striker. The aim of the game is to strike the coins with the help of the striker and move them into the corner pockets. The red colored coin/puck is called the ‘queen’. Carrom can be played with two to four players. The Carrom board has variations; it is available in smaller size for children and boards with larger corner pockets for beginners to learn the tricks and practice the game.
The American version of the game is quite different as the game is played with cue sticks with checkers or chess like patters in the middle of the board. You can note that, the corner pockets of the board are much larger than the traditional/original Carrom board. The American Carrom was played in 1950s and 1970s in South California, using larger square board and with cue sticks and wooden rings. The Filipino Carrom is played in Philippines which is called ‘pool table’ or ‘Karombola’. The Australian Carrom is similar to the Indian Carrom which is know by the trade mark ‘Puckpool’ which is played using hands without cue sticks. However the Australian Carrom is played only with eight coins, black and white coins plus with a queen or crown puck. The International Carrom Federation (ICF) is the international governing body for the game of Carrom, which has delegates from Sri Lanka, Malaysia, India, Germany, Maldives and Switzerland. The ICF sets the Laws for the Carrom game.
